Torso study from last week… these are always a lot of fun.
Torso study from last week… these are always a lot of fun.
Re-visiting some old ideas I had for a series of sculptures I plan to do… Here is some quick concept art, lately I’ve been really interested in retro, stylized astronauts, and space in general.
Another Neanderthal study from last week, just a quick anatomical study of the female neanderthal face (Profile)
Sketchbook Study…
Comparative Anatomy (Neanderthal Female & Female Modern Human)… This was a lot of fun, lately I’ve been really interested in anatomy/extinction theory of early humans, primitive man and particularly Neanderthals. This was just a skull study that I did with sepia micron, accompanied by some quick sketches, a comparison of the two species skeletal structures. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy!
Sketchbook Update… Just something quick I did last week, mostly notes. Here I was studying Darwin’s Three Principles and origins/evolutionary theory of facial expressions. The sketch is nothing great, just there to add a little flavor to the notes really, haha.
Finally finished and officially FOR SALE! Prints are available too, if anyone’s interested please contact me at jimmycatanzaro@hotmail.com and let me know. Thanks!

Back piece tattoo design I did for a long-time client and really good friend of mine. Here I was adding to an existing piece, the “Hope” was one I did a few years ago, the tree and flower I added to the design. I was pretty happy with the way this one came out, the tree has an old storybook illustration feel to it that I rather enjoy
Birthday Card I made for my niece last year, she loves Mickey Mouse… a bit silly perhaps, but I came across this and thought I’d post it.
Note: Mickey Mouse is a Disney trademarked character that I DO NOT own any rights to, this was not a commissioned piece and not drawn for any sort of payment or compensation, this is simply fan art.
Tattoo design (for myself)… I’ve wanted a large chest piece for a long time now, I plan to get a ship like this, I’m just not quite sure what I want yet around it and for the background. I’m going to keep playing with the idea in between other projects.
Gottfried Bammes studies from the other day (ink and colored pencil)… These were fun, but I wish I had got more done. Still not 100% back to myself when it comes to drawing.

Some really quick skull studies (Peck Anatomy Text) from last night, mostly just for fun/relaxation, something to keep my mind off other things. These are just okay, nothing exciting. That being said, I seem to have a love/hate relationship with ballpoint pens.
A second mermaid/siren concept sketch… I want to move forward with this project but I haven’t decided which mermaid I want to use yet, ha. But I’ll keep you all posted.
Many of the pieces on this blog are FOR SALE! Both originals and prints. Also I do work on commission and am available to do so. If anyone is interested in any sort of illustration work, concept art or tattoo design by all means, please let me know! Contact me at jimmycatanzaro@hotmail.com
Thanks! - Jimmy
