Jimmy's Sketchbook

Art and Illustration of Jimmy Catanzaro

Some more animal anatomical studies, combination of references, some from other artists work and some from photo reffs.

Some bird skull studies from my recently finished sketchbook.

Recent Illustration…
This was done as a gift for a close friend and loyal client, but it also plans to serve as concept art for a project thats currently in the works. Lately I’ve been really interested in astronauts & high altitude/experimental aircraft pilots. The original is taken but PRINTS are FOR SALE for anyone who is interested! Email me at Jimmycatanzaro@hotmail.com
Some more sketchbook studies… these were a lot of fun.

Some more sketchbook studies… I fell a little behind on posting stuff the last few weeks, but these were two of the pages I think came out pretty cool. Hope you guys think so too!

Some more recent sketchbook work (ink) not sure who the artist is I was referencing with these ones, but I had a lot of fun with these. I plan to do a lot more of this type of scientific/anatomical illustration of animals.

Some recent anatomical studies, once again,  referencing some of Peck’s anatomy work.

Baboon skull (sepia ink)… Lately I’ve been studying the skulls of primates and doing some comparative anatomy illustration.
Anatomical study of facial deformations caused by malignant tumors…
When I saw this photograph of this child it was quite disturbing how dramatically his face was deformed by the tumors, but it was one of those things that you see and you just have to draw.
Just some quick photoshop stuff I did with an old drawing of mine.
Study of the right hand… this page was a lot of fun. I plan to do a lot more stuff like this.
